Editorial guide

Choose a rechargeable flashlight by charging system

Choose the charging setup that makes sense for you, then check how the light stores its power.

In this guide

A guide to rechargeable handheld lights, their charging interfaces and battery arrangements.

Compare interface and battery arrangement separately

USB-C and micro-USB identify charging interfaces. Integrated and replaceable describe the battery arrangement. Looking at both gives a clearer picture of the ownership system.

The current cohort includes both common cable interfaces and one model with USB-C plus a named proprietary magnetic system. A connector category alone is not a compatibility answer.

Four current charging systems

Streamlight MicroStream USB pairs micro-USB with a removable Streamlight battery. Wurkkos FC11C pairs USB-C with a removable 18650 cell.

ThruNite Archer Mini places USB-C under a threaded cover and uses a built-in 10400 battery. Olight ArkPro combines USB-C and Olight MCC magnetic charging with a non-user-replaceable integrated battery.

If a cable or cell needs replacing

For USB-C or micro-USB, check the input and model record rather than assuming every cable or power source behaves the same way. For a named magnetic system, match the exact light and cable documentation.

A removable-cell model has a separate battery-replacement path. An integrated model keeps the light and battery together, so there is no ordinary owner cell swap.

Previous-generation magnetic reference

Olight Baton 4 appears here only as a previous-generation editorial reference for magnetic charging. It is outside the current comparison field and is not ranked, recommended or commerce-enabled.

The official Baton 4 record identifies magnetic charging. It provides no cross-model cable or charger pairing.
